'Lawmen: Bass Reeves': New Trailer For David Oyelowo In 'Yellowstone' Creator Taylor Sheridan's Paramount+ Series

Paramount+ has premiered the new teaser trailer for its upcoming series, Lawman: Bass Reeves.

Starring and executive produced by David Oyelowo, it tells the story of enslaved person-turned-law enforcement official, Bass Reeves.

It is the first series among Sheridan’s anthology series about “iconic lawmen and outlaws who have impacted history.”

“Revealing the untold story of the most legendary lawman in the Old West, Lawmen: Bass Reeves follows the journey of Reeves (Oyelowo) and his rise from enslavement to law enforcement as the first Black U.S. Marshal west of the Mississippi,” the synopsis reads. “Despite arresting over 3,000 outlaws during the course of his career, the weight of the badge was heavy, and he wrestled with its moral and spiritual cost to his beloved family. Lawmen: Bass Reeves is an all-new, standalone anthology series and future iterations will follow other iconic lawmen and outlaws who have impacted history.”

Aside from Oyelowo, Lawmen: Bass Reeves also stars Lauren E. Banks, Demi Singleton, Forrest Goodluck, Barry Pepper, Donald Sutherland and  Dennis Quaid.  Shea Whigham and Garrett Hedlund appear as guest stars, while recurring members include Joaquina Kalukango, Lonnie Chavis, Grantham Coleman, Tosin Morohunfola, Dale Dickey, Rob Morgan, Ryan O’Nan, Margot Bingham, Mo Brings Plenty, Justin Hurtt-Dunkley and Bill Dawes.

Lawmen: Bass Reeves premieres exclusively on Paramount+ with two episodes on Sunday, Nov. 5 in the U.S. and all international markets. Watch the teaser trailer for Lawman: Bass Reeves below.
